PROJECT: PC BASED DC MOTOR CONTROLLING

The pulse width component (PWM) is a technique that can be used for an effective DC motor speed controller or a intensity of the light. The project is a globally monitored device, a DC device that currently draws up a lot of bulbs. The circuitry can be used in either 12 or 24 volts, with only a few minor wiring changes.  This device is used to control the constant speed of the motor and control brightness of an automotive tail lamp. The other advantage of pulse width modulation is that the pulse reaches full supply voltage and will produce more torque in the machine that can easily overcome the internal resistance of the engine.

The main purpose of the project is to change the speed of DC motor. There is special chip ICs, made by various manufacturers for transmitting serial data. These chips are usually called USART (universal sync-asynchronous receiver transmitter) and UART (universal Asynchronous receiver transmitter). The communication between the computer and the microcontroller is set up by using the MAX232 converter. The RS-232 is a serial cable that connects both pins and PC controllers and microcontrollers. When the communication between the two terminals is established, data transfer can take place at a high speed. The advantage of serial data is that it uses a single data line that makes it not only cheap, but also allows computers located in two different cities to communicate. The user can enter the commands through the PC keyboard so as to vary the speed of the motor. The microcontroller accepts the input from the PC and gives this value as the input to the motor and thus, the motor rotates with this particular speed.
